New Liberian government and NGO reports on education and inclusion
In keeping with our commitment to supporting development goals articulated at the national level, Niapele is keeping its ear to the ground with regards to policy developments in key areas. Two recently released documents shed some light on focus areas in education and social welfare in Liberia.
- The Liberian Coalition for Transparency and Accountability in Education has released a report calling for greater decentralization, more effective and increased support of public schools, better and more efficient use of resources, as well as improved monitoring mechanisms. This wide-ranging report offers practical recommendations for the Ministry of Education and supports the goal of quality education for all.
- An International Seminar on Disability, sponsored by AIFO, the Carter Center, the National Union of Disabled Organizations and Handicap International produced a list of resolutions to be implemented by various line ministries to improve support for people with disabilities as well as increase access to inclusive education.
